- An arrest report says that after officers entered the home, they encountered a white male in his 30s who opened fire.
Three Miami-Dade police officers were injured after a shootout with a suspect inside of a Kendall home late Tuesday night.
Miami-Dade Police said the incident occurred at the home located at 8001 Southwest 89th Terrace just after 9:30 p.m., when officers arrived after receiving several 911 calls and finding shell casings in the backyard of the home.
Officials said officers entered the home and encountered a white male in his 30s who opened fire before barricading himself in a room.
The suspect eventually turned himself in and was arrested on 10 counts of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer. He was identified as 32-year-old Aramis Khosravi.
The officers, who also were not named, were treated at the scene after being hit with glass and bullet fragments.
"So thankful @MiamiDadePD Kendall police officers were not seriously injured as they were met w/gunfire last night," Miami-Dade Police Director Juan Perez tweeted Wednesday. "The brave officers responded to calls of gunfire & were ambushed as they approached a home. After an exchange of gunfire & negotiations, perp was taken into custody."
