Hollywood Police Continue Search for Attempted Abductor

Hollywood Police believe the same man suspected in two attempted abductions earlier this month tried to abduct another girl Wednesday morning.

The latest incident happened around 6 a.m. and the child was walking to school in the area of N. 19th Avenue and McKinley Street, Hollywood Police spokesman Lt. Derik Alexander said. The child managed to get away from the suspect.

The three attempted abductions in the area have residents in the area on the lookout for anything that is suspicious. Neighbors said they didn’t hear anything unusual during the morning when the attempted abduction took place.

“It concerns me that every day, a child can’t go to school or walk to the store without worrying that someone will harm them,” said Renee McCutcheon.

Hollywood Police spent last weekend handing out flyers in the area trying to find the person behind the crimes. Police believe the suspect is the same man who tried to abduct two women in Hollywood back on Oct. 17. In both cases, the man put a sheet over the victims' heads and tried to drag them away.

The new sketch came from Wednesday's victim who described the man as in his 20's, between 5'8" to 6', and around 200 pounds. The victim said the man was wearing a black skully cap, black t-shirt, and black pants or shorts.

Hollywood Police said the sketch developed from the first two attempted abductions described him as about 30-years-old, 5’7” to 5’9” in height, between 130 and 140 pounds, with a full beard, wearing black pants, shirt, baseball hat, and jeans.

“Who is he really? The guy in the first sketch or the second sketch? The guy in the second sketch doesn’t look like the first sketch at all,” said Vikki Jones.

Police said the new description doesn't replace the first sketch and statements, but adds to the overall case.

If you have any information about the man, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
