4 Rescued After Boat Capsizes Off Key Biscayne

Four people who were on board a boat that capsized near Key Biscayne Monday morning were rescued in the water, officials said.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and the US Coast Guard responded around 9:25 a.m. to a report of a 25-foot boat that capsized about seven miles southeast of the Cape Florida Lighthouse on Key Biscayne.

When they arrived, rescue crews found the capsized vessel and its four passengers in the water. They were brought on board and seemingly in good condition, officials said.

Officials reminded boaters that there is a small craft advisory in the area and encouraged all boaters to have life-safety vests as well as fully functional marine radios on-board in case of an emergency.
