4 Teens Accused of Armed Robbery in Little Havana: Police

A group of underage kids are accused of jumping two boys when they got off their school bus.

Miami Police detectives interviewed the group of teens at the police department. Investigators believe they could be responsible for a rash of thefts as well.

Right after school let out on Tuesday, a police chopper hovered in the air, and a swarm of armed officers saturated a Little Havana neighborhood near Northwest 4th Street and 13th Avenue.

The intense police activity occurred because a group of four kids, ages 14-18, reportedly robbed two other teenagers.

"It appears they had been watching them. They pulled up in a car, they exited the vehicle, they approached these teenagers," police explained.

The pair of victims, 15-16 years of age, just got off their school bus, trying to get home, when they were ambushed for their stuff.

"One of the victims believed that one of the robbers was armed because he told them that he had a gun," police said.

The young criminals were allegedly driving a stolen car, and demanded the victims' sneakers and cellphones.

"Fortunate enough, there were officers in the area and we were able to set up a perimeter and within a few hours, we were able to apprehend all four robbers," police said.

Three of the suspects have been charged with strong armed robbery. The fourth has been charged with armed robbery, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer and grand theft.

There's no word on whether they have attorneys.
