5 Cuban Migrants Come Ashore near Palmetto Bay: MDPD

Miami-Dade Police said a group of five Cuban migrants, including a 73-year-old man, came ashore in the Palmetto Bay area Friday.

The group were located at 17575 Old Cutler Road just before noon.

They traveled in a small sail boat and landed in the rear of a property owned by Palmetto Bay Vice Mayor John DuBois.

Police confirmed that the 73-year-old man was transported to Jackson South Community Hospital.

His condition, along with the conditions of the other passengers, was not immediately known.
