$500K Bond for Man Charged in North Miami Beach Cop Shooting

The man charged with shooting a North Miami Beach Police officer who was serving a warrant was granted bond Monday.

Elton Bandoo was given a $500,000 bond and will be on house arrest if it is paid. He'll stay behind bars until his next court appearance on April 30, when it will be determined if the money paying the bond is from a legitimate source.

Bandoo, 26, is charged with first-degree attempted murder of a law enforcement officer in the Feb. 6 shooting of Officer Lino Diaz.

Detectives said Bandoo, also known as EB-Da Iceman from the group NMB Stunnaz, shot Officer Diaz as a Special Response Team went into his home to serve a search warrant for alleged unemployment fraud and identity theft.

Officers found dozens of weapons in the home including a high-powered assault rifle, handguns and other weapons, police said. Bandoo claims he thought he was being robbed when he opened fire.

Diaz spent several days in the hospital and underwent surgery before he was released.
