Weather wise, warm temperatures and increased humidity stay around for the start of 2019 ahead of another front expected to bring cooler temperatures this weekend.

No. 1 – South Florida rang in the New Year with celebrations across the area, including the now annual concert by β€œMr. 305” himself, singer Pitbull.

No. 2. - The New Year started with tragedy in Miami Lakes after a car crashed into a lake, killing one person and sending another to the hospital according to reports.

Miami-Dade Police and dive team members arrived at the scene near the intersection of Miami Lakes Drive and Jacaranda Lane around 2 a.m. after reports of the vehicle in the water.

No. 3 - Two people are at large while three others are behind bars after they allegedly broke into a liquor store with a sledgehammer early Monday in Hialeah.

Surveillance videos show the masked thieves attempt to break in at the family-owned Barbarita Liquors on East 41st Street and 4th Avenue at around 6 a.m.

No. 4 - A week and a half into a partial government shutdown, House Democrats released their plan to re-open the government without approving money for President Donald Trump's border wall.

No. 6 - Audio has emerged of comedian Louis C.K. apparently mocking the students-turned-activists from the Parkland school shooting.

The sound-only recording was posted Sunday in a since-removed YouTube video that said it was from a Dec. 16 stand-up set at a Levittown, New York comedy club.
