Weather wise, cooler temperatures in the morning will stick around for another day with high temps pushing near 70 degrees before warmer weather arrives by the end of the week.
No. 1 – In a story you will see Only on 6, parents of a 12-year-old boy are pushing for a South Florida school district to take more action after their son was beaten by his fellow schoolmates in an attack that was caught on cellphone video.
According to the victim and his parents, the violent incident happened on the morning of Dec. 7 before school hours at a park near Miami Springs Middle School. The boy, a sixth grader, says he was playing soccer with his friends when suddenly these kids attack him.
No. 2 - A man fatally shot himself in front of police officers at his Pembroke Pines home Tuesday after authorities say he and his four children spent days living with his slain wife's body in the home.
Officers conducted a welfare check at around 9 a.m. at a home in the area of NW 76th Avenue and NW 6th Street after an anonymous caller told authorities four children living in that residence had not been to school for a week, according to Pembroke Pines police.

No. 3 - Former Broward Sheriff Scott Israel has taken the first step toward regaining his job following his suspension from office by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis earlier this month over his handling of February's mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
Attorneys for Israel filed a formal request with the Florida Senate Tuesday seeking an evidentiary hearing in the case. The Senate president has already appointed a former legislator as special magistrate to receive evidence and make recommendations to the Senate.
No. 4 - A deadly arctic deep freeze enveloped the Midwest, forcing widespread closure of schools, offices and prompting the U.S. Postal Service to take the rare step of suspending mail delivery to a wide swath of the region because of the cold.
Officials throughout the region were focused on protecting vulnerable people from the cold, including the homeless, seniors and those living in substandard housing. In Chicago, the forecast for Wednesday night called for temperatures as low as minus 21 degrees.
No. 5 - More than 36,420 pounds of chicken nugget products are being recalled because they may be contaminated with rubber, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Tuesday.
The recall is for certain 5-pound packages of Tyson White Meat Panko Chicken Nuggets sold nationwide.
No. 6 – A Southwest Florida teen is in trouble with the law after police say she stole a pizza delivery driver’s car – so that she could visit her boyfriend.
The 14-year-old girl’s father told NBC affiliate WBBH-TV that his daughter called and ordered a pizza to their home in Lehigh Acres, about 20 miles east of Fort Myers, late Tuesday night. When the driver arrived, the teen got into the car and drove away.
