Six men were arrested in Doral this weekend and charged after police say they worked to steal over $50,000 worth of cell phones from a warehouse.
Doral Police said in a press release that detectives were conducting surveillance of known burglary suspects Sunday just before 2:30 a.m. when they located five men inside of a building located off Northwest 18th Street and 79th Avenue, having used crowbars and sledgehammers to get inside.
Once outside, the men – identified as 40-year-old Maikel Cruz, 41-year-old Rafael Uranga, 47-year-old Jorge Ledezma, 25-year-old Alberto Perez and 37-year-old Antonio Arias Jr. – were found carrying boxes of cell phones according to police.
A sixth person, 65-year-old Rolando Cortina, was arrested at the scene as he sat inside a vehicle conducting “counter surveillance” according to police.
All six men were charged with burglary, grand theft and criminal mischief.
