Weather wise, isolated showers will stick around for the morning and early afternoon across South Florida before hot and dry conditions stick around through the weekend.

No. 1 – Immigration officers have reportedly arrived at a farming city in Southwest Florida ahead of scheduled raids on undocumented immigrants scheduled to take place this weekend across the country.

Sources told NBC 6 ‘s sister station Telemundo 51 that agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement have arrived in the city of Immokalee, located in Collier County just east of Fort Myers – saying they left early Friday morning for the first phase of raids under a plane from the administration of President Donald Trump.

No. 2 - A rollover crash in Westchester late Thursday night claimed the life of a young child and sent several others to the hospital.

FHP officials said the crash took place just after 10 p.m. near the intersection of Southwest 92nd Avenue and Bird Road, saying a Toyota Camry was struck by a Ford truck while it was attempting to make a left turn. Officials say seven-year-old Christian Tomas, a passenger in the Camry, died at the scene.

No. 3 - New police body camera footage shows a dangerous encounter between Doral officers and a trio of suspects accused of attacking them last month.

The incident happened back on June 15 at a neighborhood near Northwest 33rd Street and 91st Avenue, when officers were responding to a reported fight, arrest reports said. Officers encountered one suspect who tried to run away before he got on the ground. The man started yelling and struggling with officers before he punched one officer in the face, the reports said.

No. 4 - Tropical Storm Barry's wind and rain were starting to hit parts of Louisiana early Friday as New Orleans and coastal communities braced for a drenching from what's expected to be the first hurricane of the season.

A hurricane warning was in effect along the Louisiana coast, and forecasters said the storm could make landfall as a hurricane by early Saturday.

No. 5 - Singer R. Kelly was arrested on federal sex charges Thursday night nearly five months after he was released on bail for additional sexual abuse charges brought by Illinois prosecutors, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office said.

The 52-year-old was walking his dog in Chicago when he was arrested by Homeland Security Investigations agents and NYPD Public Safety Task Force, officials told WNBC-TV. There are separate federal indictments filed in both Chicago and Brooklyn, according to a senior law enforcement official, and a court appearance in Chicago could come later Friday.

No. 6 - A new law aims to make it easier for homeowners to get criminal charges filed against contractors who take money and don’t come back to do the work.
