OFFICIALS VISIT JUVENILE FACILITY FOLLOWING RIOT
 
Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Secretary Wansley Walters and Inspector General Robert Munson are planning to tour a juvenile detention facility in central Florida where a riot broke out over the weekend. Walters and Munson are scheduled to visit Avon Park Youth Academy on Tuesday for a tour and assessment of the facility following the Saturday night incident.
 
GOV. SCOTT SET TO TOUR PART OF ST. LUCIE RIVER
 
Gov. Rick Scott is joining Sen. Joe Negron for a tour of part of the St. Lucie River to access the environmental impact of water being released from Lake Okeechobee. Scott is touring the area Tuesday afternoon. This comes after the South Florida Water Management tentatively approved a plan for the Central Everglades Planning Project.
 
WOMAN FACES ANIMAL CRUELTY CHARGES
 
A Florida Panhandle woman is facing animal cruelty charges after six horses and 97 dogs were seized from her home. The Walton County Sheriff's Office reports that 49-year-old Nancy Payne was arrested on Friday following an investigation that began in April. She was released on bail Saturday.
 
POLICE: LEBRON CONCERT ESCORT VIOLATED POLICE RULE
 
The Miami-Dade Police Department says its officers violated policy by providing a police escort to Miami Heat star LeBron James through heavy traffic at last Friday's Justin Timberlake/Jay Z concert. The agency issued a statement Monday saying it will continue to investigate the matter.
 
SCOTT RESCHEDULES MARSHALL LEE GORE EXECUTION
 
Gov. Rick Scott has pushed back the execution of a former escort service owner. In a Monday letter to the warden of Florida State Prison, Scott set the new execution date for Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. The Florida Supreme Court ruled last week that Marshall Lee Gore was sane enough to be executed. Scott rescheduled Gore's execution for Sept. 10, but changed it Monday at the request of the attorney general.

TAXI DRIVER ROBBED AND SHOT IN MIAMI

A taxi cab driver is in stable condition after he was robbed and shot in Miami Tuesday morning, police said. The incident happened shortly before 5 a.m. in the 1900 block of Northwest 18th Terrace, Miami Police spokeswoman Kenia Reyes said.
