MAN SCHEDULED TO DIE JUNE 24 FOR KILLING WOMEN
Gov. Rick Scott has signed a death warrant for a man convicted of killing two women and leaving a third woman for dead. The governor's office reported Monday that 49-year-old Marshall Lee Gore is scheduled to die by lethal injection at Florida State Prison near Raiford at 6 p.m. on June 24.
NEUHARTH MEMORIAL IN FLORIDA
The first of three memorial services planned this week for USA Today founder Al Neuharth is taking place in Florida. The memorial service at the headquarters of Florida Today in Melbourne Tuesday evening is open to the public. Other memorial services will take place this week at the Newseum in Washington and the University of South Dakota.
GIANT PYTHON FOUND ON MARCO ISLAND
A giant Burmese python was found coiled inside a valve cover box at the Marco Island Waste Water Treatment Plant. A landscaper spotted the python Monday and called wildlife experts.
92 ARRESTED IN FLORIDA PROSTITUTION STING
Polk County deputies arrested 92 suspects during a four-day undercover investigation targeting online prostitution ads. The arrests were made by detectives who posted ads online posing as prostitutes. They also lured prostitutes who had posted their own ads to an undercover location.
FLORIDA MAYOR CANDIDATE CLAIMS JESUS ENDORSEMENT
One of seven candidates vying to become the next mayor of North Miami is claiming the endorsement of none other than Jesus Christ. Candidate Anna Pierre, who is a registered nurse, says Jesus came to her in a dream and provided what she believes is a firm endorsement. The campaign flier posted on her Facebook page reads ``Anna Pierre, RN, is endorsed by Jesus Christ'' complete with a photo of Jesus.

A celebration, five centuries in the making, Viva Florida 500 takes visitors back in time with a complimentary tour of a 170 foot, 495 ton, authentic wooden replica of a Spanish Galleon from when Juan Ponce de León first came to La Florida in 1513. Free tours are available at Bahia Mar Marina in Fort Lauderdale.
