Weather wise, keep a cold drink nearby throughout the day as warm and muggy conditions return for the end of the work week before more rain arrives this weekend.

No. 1 - One person was killed at the scene and two others were injured after shots were fired inside of a nightclub next to a Fort Lauderdale mall late Wednesday night.

Police say the incident took place just before midnight inside the Blue Martini nightclub in the Galleria mall off Sunrise Boulevard. Officials said the shooter was taken into custody.

No. 2 - More Florida teachers will be eligible to carry guns in the classroom under a bill Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis signed Wednesday that immediately implements recommendations from a commission formed after the Parkland high school mass shooting.

DeSantis signed the bill in private and didn't issue a statement afterward. But he previously made it clear he supports the changes made to the law enacted after a rifle-toting former student walked into Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and killed 17 people in February 2018.

No. 3 - Ultra Music Festival is leaving Miami. After two decades since the inaugural festival, organizers of the three-day electronic music event said in a statement Wednesday that they are voluntarily terminating their license with the City of Miami. The decision comes in response to feedback about this year's event on Virginia Key.

No. 4 - A South Florida doctor is facing manslaughter and other charges after one of her patients died of an opioid overdose, authorities said.

Dr. Marta Elena Farinas, 48, was booked into the Miami-Dade jail Tuesday on charges of manslaughter, conspiracy to traffic in oxycodone and delivery of oxycodone, records showed. NBC 6 Investigators were there when agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration took Farinas into custody at her Palmetto Bay office.

No. 5 - The House Judiciary Committee voted Wednesday to hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt of Congress, escalating the Democrats' extraordinary legal battle with the Trump administration over access to special counsel Robert Mueller's Trump-Russia report.

The vote capped a day of ever-deepening dispute between congressional Democrats and President Donald Trump, who for the first time invoked the principle of executive privilege, claiming the right to block lawmakers from the full report on Mueller's probe of Russian interference to help Trump in the 2016 election.

No. 6 - Skin care products containing a dangerous ingredient are being sold in South Florida stores. Products advertised to "lighten" skin or "fade" blemishes are commonly found in stores that cater to the Latino, Asian and African American communities.

Federal regulators have warned against the use of products containing more than a trace amount of mercury. To see what the NBC 6 Responds did after hearing this news, click on this link for the complete story.
