Weather wise, windier conditions will make their way into South Florida through the end of the week and into the holiday weekend with temperatures at their seasonable highs in the upper 80s.
No. 1 - A 17-year-old star football player described as a "great athletic talent" was shot and killed Tuesday in Miami Gardens.
The shooting happened in the 3400 block of Northwest 207th Street. The victim, identified by his teammates and football coach as Josh Ancrum, was airlifted to the hospital, where he died. Ancrum was a junior and a cornerback for Miami Norland High School's football team and was reportedly a hot prospect for multiple schools.
No. 2 - Chilling surveillance video shows the moments a gunman murdered a man in broad daylight in Opa-locka over the weekend.
Police say Ronnie Churches shot and killed Roberto Cardenas Sunday at a pawn shop in front of his girlfriend and children. The footage shows Churches walk up to to Cardenas' car and shoot him in cold blood. The victim's family runs out of the vehicle in the panic.
No. 3 - Crews worked late Tuesday night to put out a major fire inside of a pricey home near the waters of Fort Lauderdale.
The fire started around 9 p.m. at the home located off Southeast 12th Court, according to officials, and took almost an hour before firefighters were able to get the blaze under control. No one was home at the time of the fire as officials continue their investigation. The house was sold in 2017 for a reported $2.275 million.
No. 4 – Miami Beach officials will discuss Wednesday whether they want to bring the Ultra Music Festival back to the city, where it started nearly two decades ago.
Weeks after the electronic music festival announced it was leaving Miami, city leaders there are now debating whether to lure it back as both Homestead and Hialeah have also expressed interest in hosting the festival.
No. 5 - A federal grand jury has indicted the man suspected in the deadly shooting at a synagogue in Southern California last month and arson at a mosque as he is now facing over 100 federal counts, including hate crimes.
19-year-old John T. Earnest was charged with 109 federal counts on May 9 in connection with the April 27 shooting at the Chabad of Poway Synagogue that resulted in the death of one person.
