A 62-year-old woman was sleeping in her second-floor apartment when she was hit by one of two bullets that shot in through her window Saturday morning.
Her 11-year-old grandson says he was sleeping next his grandmother when both bullets came through the window.
"[One bullet] hit over to the second floor bedroom and [the second bullet] was the one that hit my grandma," the grandson says.
The woman's family says she is a grandmother to 18 children, six of which were inside the apartment.
City of Miami police and fire rescue responded to the scene at 1680 Northwest 4th Avenue a little after 4 a.m. They found the injured woman and trasported her to Ryder Trauma Center.
According to police, the woman was shot in the arm.
No further information was provided.
