7-Year-Old Saves Sister From Drowning in Family Pool

The girl's father said she was foaming from the mouth.

A 7-year-old Jensen Beach boy saved his 2-year-old sister from drowning when he carried her from the bottom of the pool and called for help, the TC Palm reported.

Brooke Banasiak was playing with a ball when she fell in the water, according to her father Rob Banasiak, who was grilling burgers and watching her play.

The girl's brother, Brady Banasiak, went to the pool to take a break from their trampoline when he felt his sister's body with his foot.

“At first I thought she was playing," the boy was quoted as saying. "Then, I remembered Brookie can’t swim.”

Rob Banasiak said his daughter was foaming from the mouth and not breathing normally, the newspaper reported. He rolled her on her side and she coughed up water and began to scream.

“It was the best sound I’d heard my entire life,” the girl's mother, Julie Banasiak, was quoted as saying.

Stuart Fire Rescue responded and transported the girl to St. Mary's Medical Center where she stayed overnight for observation.

“It had to be God,” Julie Banasiak said.
