8 Cuban Migrants Come Ashore on Virginia Key

Eight migrants came ashore Monday afternoon on Virginia Key, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol says.

The migrants were taken into custody at the scene and driven away in U.S. Border Patrol vehicles from the scene.

The group of migrants were aboard an 18-foot sailboat as they made the three- to four-day journey across the Straits of Florida.

Border Patrol told NBC 6 that the migrants would be taken to its Dania Beach station for further processing.
