8 Suspects Arrested in Connection to Flakka Drug Ring: Cops

Police are celebrating a small victory in the fight against Flakka. Lauderhill Police have arrested at least eight alleged gang members in connection to a drug ring that was selling the deadly drug.

One after another they appeared before Judge John Hurley in Broward County Bond Court on Friday. Sources told NBC 6 they're all members of the Bloods street gang.

They were arrested after Lauderhill Police said investigators infiltrated their drug ring and took it down. One of their biggest sellers was Flakka.

Judge Hurley sounded like a broken record when reading some of their charges, "Possession with intent to sell and deliver PVP, Flakka."

Flakka has been previously called the worst drug he's ever seen by Broward Sheriff Scott Israel, "They have the strength of 10 people. They think they're being chased by dogs. They strip naked."

It's the same drug responsible for a man running naked through the streets in Downtown Fort Lauderdale, and the reason a man tried to break into the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.

According to Judge Hurley, the suspects were operating in a very organized fashion and trying to push a lot of drugs, anywhere they could, "Selling PVP within 1,000 feet of a school or place of worship."

The men were targeting areas all over Broward County, allegedly taking orders from their apparent boss, who also appeared in court.

"Mr. David Moore is the, for a lack of a better term, ringer leader. He's allegedly the top of the pyramid on this," Judge Hurley said.

According to arrest reports Judge Hurley read in court, Moore is extremely dangerous. He owns a laundry list of violent charges, "Aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, armed burglary and robbery."

Not only were he and his fellow gang members allegedly selling Flakka, but apparently huge amount of marijuana as well, "He is the primary supplier of cannabis to lower level street dealers."

Some of the other charges against these suspects include the intent to sell cocaine and racketeering.

More arrests could be on the way in connection to this case, according to police.
