Nine-Year-Old Stamps Out Hunger

And a child shall feed them: Joshua Williams may be the tiniest philanthropist around, but he's done big things to feed the poor

He may be wrapped up in a small package, but one little guy is making a big impact in the South Florida community. 9-year-old Joshua Williams of Miami Beach is helping save lives one meal at a time through his non-profit organization, Joshua's Heart.

"I'm making a difference by giving food to the poor," he says of his work. "You really need food to survive."

Williams is working to take a bite out of hunger, teaming up this weekend with Bishop James Adams of St. John Institutional Baptist Church in Overtown to help feed more than 150 families in need.

"He's not only talking the talk at an early age, he's walking the walk," said Bishop Adams.

Williams was just a little older than a toddler when he says his purpose in life was revealed to him on the streets of South Florida.

"I was 4 and a half when I decided that my purpose was to help the poor."

Fast forward to the present, and this little philanthropist has already raised close to $100,000 to help feed the homeless and less fortunate.

His young life's work has already been showcased on national television and recognized with numerous awards. But Joshua remains humble, keeping his eye on the cause: "My main goal is to do it Internationally."
