Officials released the heartbreaking 911 calls of a grandmother seeking help for an eight-month-old toddler who was killed by a pit bull.
Officers responded to the home in the 2400 block of Kingston Drive around 11:30 a.m. on May 30th, where Liana Valino was found dead after an incident with the dog.
“My son’s dog killed the eight month old girl,” the grandmother, who was caring for the child at the time, said in Spanish according to an interpreter on the tapes.
The death was ruled as accidental by the medical examiner’s office and the animal was returned to the family by Broward County Animal Control.
"I'm numb right now, I don't feel," mother Brenda Villasin told reporters shortly after the incident. "I can't express myself correctly. She was the best thing to ever happen to me. She smiled every morning. She was my world.”
