NBC 6 First Alert Weather: Your Holiday Travel Forecast

The week of Thanksgiving is usually the year's busiest for travel. Although much of South Florida's weather will be calm between now and Thanksgiving, several potent systems across the nation could cause travel issues and make for a hectic start to the holiday season.

Below is a look ahead at what regional weather patterns to expect and watch out for from today until Friday:

Thanksgiving:

Most of the east, outside of New England, gets a break while the West stays busy with more valley rain and mountain snow. A new batch of rain hits the middle part of the country with a little wet snow for the Upper Midwest.

Friday:

Calm conditions persist for the eastern third of the nation while the West and Plains stay busy. Expect wind and high elevation snow in the west with rain and snow yet again for the Plains.
