ATV Driver Killed, Two Others Hospitalized After Crash With SUV in Southwest Miami-Dade

An overnight crash in Southwest Miami-Dade involving a vehicle and an ATV claimed the life of one person and sent two others to the hospital.

Miami-Dade Police say the crash occurred shortly before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Southwest 137th Avenue and 112th Street. Investigators say a Lexus SUV turned in front of a Polaris R2R4 off road vehicle, causing the crash.

The ATV flipped over, ejecting both the driver and passenger who ended up pinned underneath. The driver, identified as 22-year-old Juan Marquez, was taken to Kendall Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The passenger of the ATV, 23-year-old Andrea Rodriguez-Caceres, and the driver of the SUV, 64-year-old Jose Victorero, were both rushed to area hospitals in critical condition.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
