Miami Police are searching for the suspect caught on a security camera allegedly setting fire to a car – and themselves – outside an Allapattah home early Friday morning.

The scene was captured on camera outside the home near the intersection of Northwest 25th Avenue and 35th Street, where someone can be seen running from the car shortly after it exploded as the person involved appears to brush off flames on their clothing as well.

Miami Fire Rescue crews were able to put out the fire to what appeared to be a silver Infiniti, but no injuries were reported and no information was released about anyone involved.

Police investigators say early indications point to a man breaking into the vehicle, but being unsuccessful in trying to steal an air bag and setting the car on fire.
