“America's Most Wanted” Erects Billboard to Catch Killer

Show hopes ad will aid capture of Miami murder suspect

The Miami Police Department has teamed up with "America's Most Wanted" to erect a new billboard in the hopes of catching a suspected killer.

The billboard, unveiled Thursday at Northwest 27th Avenue just South of SR-112, is the fourth to profile the murder of Luis Diaz.

Diaz was gunned down at the Las Botellitas Restaurant and Club at 2150 Northwest 22nd Ave. on the morning of March 13, 2010. A security guard at the club, the 39-year-old Diaz was rushed to the hospital where he later died.

Police say Jonathan Labrada, 27, is Diaz's killer, and they hope that by plastering his face on the massive, 14-by-48 foot billboard, someone from the public will come forward to help put him behind bars.

The case was featured on "AMW" on December 4. The show has worked with the Outdoor Advertising Association of America to erect the other three billboards, which are on Northwest 36th St., Northwest 27th Ave. and on the Airport Expressway.

Anyone with information on Labrada's whereabouts is asked to call the Miami Police Department's Homicide Unit at 305-603-6350 or Miami-Dade CrimeStoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
