Man arrested in wife's Easter Sunday murder in Pompano Beach

For the second time in less than 24 hours, yet another husband has been arrested and charged with murdering his wife in Broward County.

Robert Oulton, 62, was arrested Tuesday for the Easter Sunday murder of his wife, Yvonne Oulton, also 62, whose body was found in her car on the 1400 block of SW 3rd Street of Pompano Beach after an afternoon of gambling at the Isle Casino & Racing at Pompano Park.

According to police, Yvonne Oulton was last seen leaving the casino around 4 p.m., and her body was found around 11 p.m.

Robert Oulton has been charged with first degree murder and is being held in the Broward County Jail. He was ordered held with no bond by a judge Wednesday.

According to an arrest affadavit, Yvonne Oulton was beaten on the head by a blunt object at least 10 times.

BSO officials said Oulton confessed everything to his son and left a letter at the home explaining what had happened.

"I turned evil; I woke up and remember everything," Oulton said.

It's unclear why Outlon murdered his wife, who was a regular poker player at the Isle Casino.

The arrest comes less than a day after a Coral Springs man was arrested and charged with murdering his wife.

Munawar Toha, 63, is accused of killing his 41-year-old wife, Surya Toha, and pushing her car which contained her body into a lake. Police released surveillance video of a man the believe is Toha pushing the car into Crystal Lake.

Surya Toha hadn't been seen since March 23. Munawar Toha was arrested just a day after he made a tearful plea for his wife to return home.
