Arrest Made After Man Shot During ATM Robbery in Pompano Beach: BSO

A man accused of shooting another man during a robbery at an ATM in Pompano Beach has been arrested, authorities said.

Quinton Johnson, 28, was arrested Monday on charges of armed robbery and attempted felony murder in the incident that happened just after 5:15 a.m. Saturday at the Bank of America at 21 S. Pompano Parkway, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.

Authorities said 67-year-old Dennis Moton stopped at the ATM on his way to get breakfast when Johnson approached him and demanded his cash. An argument ensued, and Johnson shot Moton and stole his money and bicycle, officials said.

Moton was able to make his way to a nearby McDonald's and request help. He was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Johnson, who lives in Pompano Beach, was being held without bond Tuesday, jail records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.
