The man believed to have struck a motorcyclist in Pompano Beach on Christmas Eve, leaving that man paralyzed, is now under arrest.
The Broward Sheriff's Office said Thomas Pathammavong, 22, of Homestead is being held in jail, facing multiple charges for the hit-and-run.
Robert Sean Games, 43, was waiting at a traffic light at the intersection of NE 14th Street and North Federal Highway around 8:30 p.m., December 24th, when he was struck from behind by a truck.
According to the arrest report, investigators learned that the suspect's vehicle was believed to have been involved in another hit-and-run in Lighthouse Point and was fleeing from that scene when he ran over Robert Games’ motorcycle.
During the investigation, detectives received information about a blue Chevy Silverado matching the suspect vehicle’s description that was reported stolen on Jan. 5, although the person reporting it stolen claimed it had actually gone missing on Dec. 23.
In the stolen vehicle report, Pathammavong said he didn’t report it sooner because he thought the truck had been repossessed.
On Jan. 26, detectives inspected the vehicle, which had been located in Miami-Dade County. They said the damage was consistent with that which would have been caused when running over Games’ motorcycle.

On Friday, April 17, the State Attorney's Office filed eight charges against Pathammavong, including failure to stop or remain at the scene of an accident involving serious injury, insurance fraud, making a false report, reckless driving and careless driving.
Games, a pest control technician, remains in the hospital where he continues to undergo surgeries to repair his injuries.
