Arrest Made in Florida City Teen Shooting: Police

Florida City Police have made an arrest after a teen was shot on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

41-year-old Adrian Harris was taken into custody without incident at his home in Homestead on Friday.

Investigators located the vehicle that was seen leaving the area of the shooting, as well as a handgun matching the caliber of evidence recovered at the scene.

The shooting happened Monday around 7:10 p.m. in the 1200 block of Northwest 8th Place. 14-year-old Martwan Santiago was shot.

He was airlifted to Miami Children's Hospital, where he was recovering in the intensive care unit.

Harris is now facing numerous charges including attempted murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and aggravated assault with a firearm.

The investigation into the shooting continues, but police said it could have been gang-related.
