An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting outside Carol City Senior High School in Miami Gardens Wednesday.
Cedric Admas, 18, was arrested early Thursday and is facing charges of carrying a concealed firearm and possession of a weapon on school property.
Admas was being held on $16,000 bond Thursday, jail records showed. It's unknown if he's hired an attorney.
Police are still looking for 19-year-old Stanley Ragin in connection with the shooting. They said he has a violent history and should be considered armed and dangerous. He's also a known gang member, according to police.
No one was injured in the shooting but a school office window was hit, authorities said. The shooting was reported around 3 p.m., about an hour after students were let out.
Police said at least eight shots were fired and the gunfire was aimed at someone walking in front of the school, not the school itself. The person who was targeted isn't a student and reportedly returned fire.
"This is suppose to be a safe environment. You are suppose to go to school and get your education. Not come out here and fight and be reckless," said Jamal Lallan, student.
"I'm an alumni of Miami Carol High and I think it's ridiculous that these children are running rampant out here with these guns," one woman said, whose grandchild goes to the daycare next door.
According to an arrest report, Admas is a member of the 2100 street gang in Opa-locka. Admas and other members of the gang had gotten out of a car and approached someone he believed to be from a rival gang when the shooting happened.
