Arson Suspected as Miami Gardens Restaurant Catches Fire

Police believe a Miami Gardens restaurant that caught on fire Wednesday was an act of arson.

At around 3:30 a.m. Shorty's Cafeteria, located at 4114 NW 167th Street, went under flames after restaurant owners say somebody threw molotov cocktails through the window overnight.

“There’s no words. There’s no words. We worked hard, they slaved,” said Michelle Feliciano, the cafeteria owner's mom said.

The cafeteria opened up 4-5 months ago and served Peruvian and Cuban food.

Owners say the restaurant did not have insurance.
