An early morning fire near Plantation proved to be deadly once crews were able to get inside.
Broward Fire Rescue responded to the scene at a mobile home near SW 13th Street and 44th Terrace around 3 AM. Neighbors were concerned that three people who lived in the home had not been seen since the fire started. Officials began searching for people inside the home, but had to pull out when the fire escalated.
After extinguishing the fire, officials said a man and woman were confirmed dead, but would not reveal the identities of those found. A third person was found safe later. An investigation is continuing from several agencies, including the state’s Fire Marshall Office and BSO homicide detectives.
