Man in Custody After Police Chase Ends in Hialeah

A man was in custody after a police pursuit ended in Hialeah Tuesday afternoon.

According to Miami-Dade Police, the chase started when an officer pulled over the man in the area of Northwest 43rd Terrace and 30th Avenue.

During the stop, the driver drove at the officer, sideswiping him, police said. The officer wasn't hurt and gave chase, police said.

The chase ended in the area of W. 8th Avenue and 23rd Street in Hialeah when the suspect crashed into a parked car, officials said.

The suspect again tried to flee and officers used their Tazers, officials said.

Hialeah Police identified the suspect as 43-year-old Alan Luis Suarez, and said he's facing charges including battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and several traffic violations.

It's unknown if Suarez has hired an attorney.
