A Broward Sheriff's deputy was rushed to the hospital after going into cardiac arrest outside Broward's main jail in Fort Lauderdale Friday, officials said.
The deputy collapsed in the parking lot of the facility at 555 Southeast 1st Avenue, BSO officials said. Fort Lauderdale fire officials said the deputy was taken to Broward Health.
Sources said the deputy may have been involved in some sort of foot chase before the incident.
The deputy's identity and condition were unknown.
