Authorities are investigating after a 6-year-old boy drowned in a pool at a Dania Beach apartment complex.
The boy and his mother came from Miami to attend a get-together at the Beach Walk at Sheridan apartments on E. Sheridan Street Sunday, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.
Children had been going in and out of the pool when one of the adults saw the boy submerged in the deep end. The adult jumped in and got the boy out of the water and started to perform CPR on him.
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue brought the boy to Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in critical condition. He died early Monday.
Officials haven't released the boy's identity. His death is being investigated but detectives don't suspect foul play, officials said.
