BSO Investigating Deputy-Involved Shooting in Pembroke Park

Authorities are investigating an early-morning shooting in West Park.

The incident happened around 5:45 am in the 3900 block of Pembroke Road. According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, people who were possibly patrons of a nearby lounge were involved in a confrontation that led to gunfire. A BSO deputy working a security detail at the lounge heard shots fired and responded, discharging his weapon.

One person was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital with two non-life-threatening gun shot wounds to the leg. BSO said it is unknown whose bullet struck the subject.

Two suspect vehicles were stopped by BSO deputies, who found firearms in both vehicles. The suspects were detained.

The investigation is ongoing. No other information was released at this time.
