A baby boy was taken by air to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in grave condition after he fell in his home in North Miami, police said.
North Miami Police said the boy, who is four months old, received a grave injury to his head. His mother said the child fell onto the tile floor at 665 Northeast 133rd St. Apt. 3., according to police.
Police said they need to determine if what happened Wednesday afternoon was an accident, or whether the mother was negligent.
Detectives were questioning the mother, who was home along with the baby at the time.
Crime scene investigators were at the apartment building until late in the afternoon.
The mother has two other children, neither of whom was home when the baby fell.
