Barahona's Attorney Steps Down

Lawyer for Miami dad accused of killing daughter claims conflict of interest

The attorney for the Miami adoptive dad charged with killing his daughter stepped down from the case due to a conflict of interest Friday.

Edith Georgie, who was representing Jorge Barahona, refused to elaborate on why she's stepping down, simply saying it would be unethical.

Jorge Barahona and wife Carmen have both been charged with first-degree murder in the death of 10-year-old daughter Nubia. Her body was found in the bed of Jorge Barahona's truck along I-95 on Valentine's Day.

Nubia's twin brother, who was also found beaten and badly burned, survived.
