Beauty Bandit Gets a Slap on the Wrist

Maria Chrysson avoids jail, gets two years' probation for string of Botox thefts

It was a beautiful day for South Florida Beauty Bandit Maria Chrysson, who will stay out of jail after accepting a no contest plea Wednesday.

The 29-year-old was in a Miami-Dade courtroom this morning to accept a deal that gives her just probation and allow her outdoors for the first time in two months in exchange for pleading guilty to one count of third-degree theft.

"I'm just glad that I'm off of my house arrest and I can go on with my life," Chrysson said after the appearance.

Chrysson will be on probation for two years, will serve 100 hours of community service, and will have to undergo a psychiatric evaluation under the deal. She was also ordered to make full restitution to her victims, which her lawyer says she's already done.

The Bandit wore a short plaid skirt and grey top to court Wednesday and accentuated her ankle monitor with a pair of high heels.

Chrysson was arrested in August and charged with grand theft, identity theft and fraud for allegedly ripping off several Broward and Miami-Dade doctors who performed Botox and other facial surgery on the self-proclaimed model.

She allegedly stole $7,000 worth of cosmetic work.

Doctors said Chrysson stomped into their offices demanding the treatments and then skipped out on the bills when it was time to pay. On separate occasions, she told two doctors she was a model and that it was against her contract to take the before pictures usually required before a procedure.

That made it hard to identify Chrysson, but after a Fort Lauderdale doctor took his complaints to NBC Miami and published a picture of Chrysson, other cosmetologists stepped forward and fingered the Beauty Bandit.

Chrysson has denied the Fort Lauderdale theft, in which she's accused of ripping off Doctor Shino Bay Aguillera's clinic to the tune of $3,300 worth of cosmetic procedures.

According to her Facebook page, Chrysson was ready for her freedom.

"Well tonights the last night Im forced to stay indoors;) ... Just took a nice bubble bath and time for some zzzzzzzzzzzzz's," she wrote late Tuesday. "Last day in Miami Court tomorrow morning and last night with my monitor!!!...(it wont be missed) LOL..."
