Three bicyclists were injured in a crash in during a long-distance ride in Pinellas County.
The crash happened Sunday afternoon as about 30 members of the Suncoast Cycling Club were in the 53rd mile of a 57-mile trip.
Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies say one man suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash.
The Tampa Bay Times 53-year-old Roberto Singson touched his front tire against a rider in front of him. Singson lost control and fell. He struck his head on the ground. Two more bikers - 60-year-old James Poitras and 55-year-old John Burchfield - crashed into him and fell.
Deputies say Singson was flown to a hospital. Poitras suffered a broken right clavicle and Burchfield was treated and released. All three men were wearing helmets.
