Blockhead Nabbed While Grabbing Legos

Playtime over for serial toy bandit

A Miami man thought he'd found the perfect crime: alter the price of Lego toys and resell them on eBay for a profit.

But thanks to a sharp-eyed Wal-Mart security guard, the serial toy bandit was busted with his hands full of the colorful blocks.

Max Rodriguez told police he'd pulled his Lego scheme at least 300 times in the past year, but it wasn't until he tried to buy several boxes of Legos, worth almost $400, for just $44 at a Lauderdale Lakes Wally World on Monday that he was caught.

The cops quickly snatched Rodriguez, who lives in South Miami-Dade. When police searched the 34-year-old toy taker's apartment, they found a cache of playthings worth over $7,000.

Rodriguez was charged with grand theft.
