Boater Pulled From Water in Fort Lauderdale Dies

A man who was rescued after falling from a boat in Fort Lauderdale has died.

On Sunday night, the Fort Lauderdale Fire Department Dive Team pulled Anthony Brown, 46, from the waterway in the area of Southeast 15th Street and Cordova Avenue.

He was transported to Broward Health Medical Center, where he later died.

Officials said Brown was trying to secure his boat to the dock when he fell into the water.

It took divers 30 minutes to locate him. The Fort Lauderdale Police Department said an investigation into the death is ongoing, but they did not suspect foul play.

The Broward Medical Examiner said the cause of death is accidental drowning.
