For the first time, the general public is seeing police body video showing the chaotic 2016 scene where a Central Florida man got into a shootout with police at his home after he shot his estranged wife while their three children watched inside.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office released the video for the first time since the incident, where Emmanuel Rosado barricaded himself inside the family’s Deltona home on July 24th of that year.

The video showed Deputy Eric Cheek exchanging gunfire with Rosado inside the home as backup arrived. Cheek and other deputies helped rescue Rosado’s wife, Victoria, after she climbed out of a window and yelled for help.

Deputies were able to get to Victoria, who had been shot in the leg and pelvis, and take her to safety before going to the back of the home and rescuing the three children.

Rosado later exited the home and surrendered to deputies. He was convicted of attempted second degree murder and battery. Officials said they waited to release the video due to the ongoing trial.
