Boil Water Notice Issued for Two Block Area in Northeast Fort Lauderdale

Water main break responsible for notice

Don’t drink that tap water, at least if you live in two-block area in northeast Fort Lauderdale that was affected by a 6-inch water main break on Saturday.

The Fort Lauderdale Public Works Department issued a boil water notice for the two-block area between NE 28th and 29th Streets and AIA/Ocean Boulevard and the Intracoastal Waterway. The notice was still in effect on Sunday morning, according to a city help line.

Officials recommend that all tap water use for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth or other consumption be boiled for at least a minute, although they say tap water can be used for bathing and washing.

The water main break happened on NE 33rd Avenue between NE 28 and 29th Streets.
