Boil Water Notice Lifted for Parts of Fort Lauderdale, Wilton Manors Days After Main Break

A boil water notice that had remained in effect in the greater Fort Lauderdale area following a damaged main has been lifted Sunday.

The city released a statment saying the notice, in place since Thursday's main break that impacted several cities in Broward County, had been lifted for most of the area.

Wilton Manors also said their boil water notice had been lifted as well. For a list of where in Fort Lauderdale the notice is still in place, click on this link.

Fort Lauderdale has established water distribution sites that will remain open until 8 p.m. Sunday.

  • Beach Community Center – 3351 NE 33rd Ave. in Fort Lauderdale
  • Mills Pond Park – 2201 NW 9th Ave. in Fort Lauderdale
  • Riverland Park – 950 SW 27th Ave. in Fort Lauderdale

"The Fiveash water treatment plant is operating at normal production levels," the city of Fort Lauderdale said in a statement. "Crews will continue to exercise the valves surrounding the location of the repaired pipe. Over the next week, a contractor will begin staging equipment and materials in preparation to begin making the permanent repair to the pipe."

Officials said they do not anticipate any disruption in water service during permanent repairs.
