$720,000 Bond Set for Man in Child Porn Case

Harve White faces 50 counts of child pornography

A Hollywood man accused of having over 900 files of child pornography on his computer and digital camera was ordered held on $720,000 bond during his first appearance in Broward court Thursday morning.

Harve Michael White, 58, faces 50 counts of possessing child pornography following his arrest Wednesday.

White's home near Polk Street and N. 44th Avenue was raided Wednesday by members of the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The task force found an overwhelming amount of child pornography, according to Hollywood Police spokesman Lt. Norris Redding.

“They discovered over 700 explicit images of children ranging from the age of 18 months and up in compromising positions,” Redding said. “Some are so disgusting I could not look at them on the screen myself.”

A police report said over 300 graphic images and videos of children being sexually assaulted by adults were found on a computer in the house, and 600 files were found on a hard drive.

Redding said White lost his chiropractor's license after he was convicted ten years ago for sexual battery on a 20-year-old.

Police were investigating to see whether he was involved in the production of the images. They were also trying to see where the pornography was made to possibly track down the children.

It wasn't immediately known if White had an attorney.
