Construction crew unearths bones in Fort Lauderdale

Bones unearthed by a construction crew in Fort Lauderdale were found not to be human, police said.

The bones were found at 2400 W. Broward Boulevard as the crew was digging near the sidewalk, Fort Lauderdale Police spokeswoman Det. DeAnna Garcia said.

The medical examiner later determined the bones were not human, Garcia said. It's unknown what kind of animal they came from or how they ended up at the spot.
