Bour Stays Hot as Marlins Top Braves Again

Justin Bour hit another home run to help Miami beat the Braves for a second straight day

Justin Bour helped power the Miami Marlins to a 7-1 win over the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday at Turner Field.

Bour's three-run home run in the seventh inning extended Miami's lead and put it out of reach. The blast was the 15th of the year for Bour as he continues to lead Miami's offense. The first baseman is hitting cleanup for Miami, and is proving worthy of the slot. Bour has a chance of landing the everyday job at 1B in 2016.

The Marlins nearly shut the Braves out for a second straight day. Atlanta was able to plate a run in the eighth inning to avoid that rare occurrence. It was still a terrific outing for Miami's pitchers as well as its offense.

Marcell Ozuna (20) and Christian Yelich (17) each doubled as part of two-hit days for each man. Yelich missed some playing time recently with a knee injury, but it has not had an effect on his play. The left fielder also scored two runs in the win.

Dee Gordon reached base twice and promptly stole two bases. Gordon has a .329 average which leads the team, and has swiped 47 bases this year.

Justin Nicolino looked strong once again in picking up his third big-league win. The rookie went seven shutout innings in which he allowed six hits. In one frame, Nicolino loaded the bases with nobody out before escaping the jam. Bour made a diving catch that turned into a double play to help bail Nicolino out of that one.

Adam Conley will get the ball on Wednesday afternoon as the Marlins try to sweep the series in Atlanta.
