Boy, 3, Drowns in Coral Springs Pool: Police

A three-year-old boy has died after drowning in a pool behind his Coral Springs house, according to police.

Coral Springs Police said the mother of the boy went out the back door of the home on the 4000 block of Northwest 76th Avenue to water some plants, but left the door open, so the child was able to get outside.

The father later found the son in the pool and dove in to retrieve him. Police said they believe the boy was in the pool for about five minutes before he was pulled out.

Fire rescue transported the child to Coral Springs Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

No further information was immediately released.
