Lovetta McGrady told police she did it because she was upset: Sun Sentinel

A Boynton Beach mother put her two kids into her Dodge Neon and rammed their father’s car three times after an argument, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported.

Lovetta McGrady, 22, faces charges of child abuse and criminal damage to property after the Saturday incident on the 400 block of SW 5th Avenue, according to the Sun Sentinel.

She arrived at her 22-year-old ex-boyfriend’s house that morning to drop off the two children that morning. But when he said that he didn’t plan to have the kids that day, McGrady punched him and he pushed her away, a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office report said.

After putting the children – who are 3 years old and 3 months old, respectively – into the Neon, McGrady did a U-turn, pointed the nose of her car at the LeSabre, and rammed it repeatedly, the Sun Sentinel said. She caused $1,500 in damage, according to the newspaper.

McGrady later told a detective that she did it because she was upset, the Sun Sentinel said.
