Santa's Enchanted Forest is a staple in South Florida, but many underprivileged kids may never get the chance to experience the park's magic.
So one organization is stepping up to make sure the holidays are a little brighter for dozens of kids.
The holiday theme park invited more than 100 students from the non-profit organization Branches to enjoy food, fun, and games. Branches provides opportunities to help working families and their children break the cycle of generational poverty.
"Branches is really unique because what we do is that we don't just serve children and youth for a week here or a year there. We really serve children continuously and long-term," said Isabelle Pike, development director of Branches.
The middle school and high school students consider this an early Christmas gift, and they’re thrilled to share it with their friends who they consider family.
"Some of us, we don’t have this gift to be able to come here like many people do," said Branches member Damaris Elizalde. "This is amazing for all of us to be able to come together because we are basically family."
